Special Characters

A certain amount waits to be transferred to an international account for confirmation of university course acceptance. Apparently crucial for career pursuits. Alarming urgency demanding immediate completion.

The student goes to the bank. Fills up all required application forms and provides all documents needed. Two hours gone.

Bank officer: The system is not initiating the transfer.
Student: Why so? I have done the same thing before and it happened successfully.
Bank officer: The system is a little inconsistent, I think. Since today morning, it is not accepting special characters.
Student: What do you mean? Which special character is creating such a trouble?
Bank officer: The '/' in your home address.
Student: It was always there. The system accepted it previously. How is it that since today morning, the particular '/' is getting rejected?
Bank officer: I don't know, the system gets moody, I guess. Since today morning, it decided not to accept special characters.
Student: Well, so how do I finish this urgent task? I have a deadline.
Bank officer: Go to your home branch for the specific account, tell them to erase '/' from your home address. It will take 5-10 mins. Then come back, we will try it then.

[Student goes to home branch of the specific bank account. Stands in the queue for 1 hour.]

Student: Sir, the '/' is creating some issue for international money transfer. I want to get rid of it. Permanently.
Bank officer: Okay. Let me see.

[Bank officer opens the particular account holder information in his computer. Attempts to make changes.]

Bank officer: The system is not accepting it. The demographic details of your Aadhar card [a certain unique identification card for Indians] do not match. Go to the aadhar update centre. Come back here after you correct your information there. Once that is done, I can get rid of the '/'.

[Student checks the Aadhar card information to find what's the issue. The surname is creating trouble. A certain extra 'j' rests peacefully amidst the letters.]

[Student goes to Aadhar update centre]

Student: Sir, there is problem with my name.
Officer: Go to your parents, what can I do with your name?
Student: No Sir, I mean the name printed here. A certain extra 'j' comes into existence from nowhere, creates trouble for erasing a particular '/' from my address, which further creates trouble in pissing off the system, due to which the system decided to no longer accept special characters, since today morning! The Times they are a-changin'...
