Religion and Worship

“Are you religious?” she asked. I answered, “Depends on what you call religion. For me, my religion is my relation to the essence of every element in this universe.” She replied, “How do you worship then? Tell me about your God.” I said, “Let me tell you a story. It was a wintry night in the foothills of the Himalayas. A dark, dense, forested region. For some unknown reason, I preferred the foothills and the valleys to small towns on higher altitudes. The place belonged to a kingdom of innumerable variety of uncountable forest species. A journey amidst the forest would mean being witness to the magical phenomenon of dark roads being lighted up by millions and billions of fireflies. A kind of welcome, any stranger would be grateful to experience. My only shelter was a tent with a transparent rooftop, located right beside the river and amidst some massive rocks. Since it was off-season for tourism to these places, I had limited company. To be more precise, limited in quantity but un...

Calligraphy Pens

In a calm voice, he said, “Buy a leather journal and a calligraphy pen with changeable tips. You don’t have to spend much. At my place, it costs 15-20$. The idea is that you want the aesthetic of what you’re doing to match the importance of what you’re doing, which is very important since it reflects your personal attempt for a better understanding.” Confused by the introduction of calligraphy pens in the discussion, I replied, “Why calligraphy pens?” He smiled and answered, “I did not tell you to learn calligraphy. The goal is to never spill the ink and get none of it on your hands. Eventually, you will also observe your own words and know what I mean by coherent expression.”

Perspective

I looked at the moon, but only at her hidden face I screamed, “There is no moon!” Everyone heard. Everyone came. Mankind was dancing, Dancing to his own tune; Mankind was fighting, Fighting over his own issues; I stared at mankind, but only at his dark side; I screamed, “They are so cruel! Destroy them!” Everyone heard. Everyone came. A manipulating civilization, a masked advancement, Factories of social construction, Walls of morals, ethics, values, Cries of freedom but desires of enslavement; I asked you, “Why don’t you think you are free?” You answered, “I won’t blame them. I am my own slave” I screamed, “There is no free will” Everyone heard. Everyone came. Fear, faith and choice, The three gods of this new world, A religion believed by all; obeyed by all; worshipped by all; The gods ruined their creation The gods became their obsession I asked, “Do you believe in God” You answered, “No. He couldn’t have let this happen to us...

We didn't know

"Come along, Father," he shouted over the sound of the wind rushing past them.  "Smile, we’ve done it, we’ve escaped and we’re free." “When my feet are back on solid ground and that island is many, many miles behind us, then you will see me smile,” Daedalus yelled back. “Now, keep your mind on what we have to do and remember, not too high, not too close to the sun.” - The myth of Daedalus and Icarus Freedom is what we wanted, We didn’t know what freedom was, We were looking outward, We were looking towards the sky. The Moon, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, The galaxies and beyond. Escape was the word, Always escape to freedom. We forgot, forgot to look inside ourselves. Happiness is what we wanted, We didn’t know what happiness was, We didn’t know it’s a journey. We were looking forward to it. Looking forward for a place, We named it heaven, we named it bliss. My happiness, your happiness, our happiness. Destination was the word. Let’s make it to happi...

Who I am and Who I want to be

I wanted to be who I am, I want to be who I am, I am who I am. No one understands this; “What do you want to be?”, they asked “I want to be who I am”, I answered. Shocked, surprised! They screamed, “What! There must be something you want to be! Some wants? Some could be’s? Any wishes? Anything at all? Think, think…” They never understood me, I looked away. The stones said, “Come on! Lie down with us! You can see how the world looks from here!” I lied down beside them. The leaves uttered “Fall from the trees like us! Join me! Let’s feel the embrace of the earth as we fall! Feel what we feel when we fall!” I fell along with them. The sun laughed, “Burn like me! Feel what it feels to give warmth, joy and love to all beings! Feel what it feels to give as you burn!” I felt like the sun. The trees cried out to me with joy, “ Come here, come to me! Let us dance together to the tune of seasons! Feel what it feels to change oneself with every breath!” ...

As Above...So Below

Once upon a time, there was a man. The man lived alone in a small room with a small table in it. The table had car keys placed on it. One morning, the man thought of going somewhere, some particular place decided in his mind. He took his keys, brought the car to life and started his journey. After a while, he forgot where he wanted to go followed by making efforts of remembering. While lost in his efforts to remember where he wanted to go, he kept driving, taking roads without knowing where they led, crossed beautiful places which went unnoticed to him, nonexistent to him. All of a sudden, he feels he is familiar with a place he was driving through. He remembered that was the exact same place he started his journey from. This realization made him stop the car at this familiar place. Paused there for a while, he was shocked to find that it was the same place he had started his journey from. When he took his car keys out, he remembered where he wanted to go. Since he was tired be...

The Idea of Choice

Fragmented thoughts When you walk down a road alone, while walking, you experience a constant rush of thoughts. Sometimes, you may feel the road beneath your feet, sometimes you feel nothing. You are lost while you are on a path. Still you are walking on the road, your mind may give it existence or not. Still it is there and you are walking on it. You are lost in your own world while walking on it. Is that road "eternity"? You do not have the power to make it eternal, it is there, with or without your acknowledgment. It is there even when you think it is not. With it's place right beneath your feet, it is does not let you contaminate it with your thoughts or words. At the same time, it will give you the right to do whatever you want to, still you can't damage it with your thoughts of "giving it existence". Is this what you call "eternity"? As I said, not your words or thoughts can define it. Thus my words or thoughts said above ...
